Elizabeth Milley's Banana Bread.

    Banana Bread

Ingredients:  
  • 1/3 c milk
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/3 c shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c mashed bananas
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1-1/2 c all-purpose flour

Instructions:
    Combine milk and vinegar; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and mix well. Add bananas and soured milk; mix thoroughly. Add dry ingredients except flour and stir well; add flour and mix until moistened (some lumps are ok).
Oven Settings:
    Bake about an hour at 350oF degrees in a greased or lined loaf pan.
Serving Suggestions:
    This bread is a great all around Quickbread. It's really really good fresh from the oven, or toasted with peanut butter.
